In the Limousin region,
the Correze is a département of great contrast, from the
gentle rolling Dordogne Valley countryside in the south to the high plateau
of Millevaches in the north.
Even the French divide the Correze into 8 different regions, the better
to encapsulate the character of the ever changing countryside. These subdivisions
are: Vallée de La Dordogne and Pays de Brive in the
south; Vézère and Auvézère to
the west; the central region of Pays de Tulle; Monedieres
and the high plateau of the Millevaches to north and the Gorges
de la Dordogne in the east. There is a lot of pretty specatuclar and
(for the most part) underdeveloped country out there waiting to be discovered.
And castles. If you like castles, you will love the Correze!
In exploring this marvellous département of the Limousin,

Plus Beaux Villages de France to be found in the Corrèze.
Bon vacances!
