The Cantemerle gite is a traditional stone house, situated just 5 minutes from Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne. Restored to a high standard by its architect owner, it enjoys spectacular panoramic views over the Dordogne Valley.

The swimming pool is a good size at 8 x 4 metres and has been recently fully enclosed with see-through safety fencing and gate, to comply with the new French pool safety laws.

The first floor comprises a large fully equipped kitchen/dining room, including gas cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave. French windows lead on to a balcony... perfect for enjoying the vista over breakfast or dinner. In the well-furnished living room with its traditional stone fireplace and woodburner, there is UK satellite TV, as well as a good selection of books and information on the area.

The 8 x 4 metre swimming pool with salt system is for the exclusive use of those staying at Cantemerle Haut, with a large sun-terrace around. The house is surrounded by garden, and has ample parking space.

The Cantemerle gite is very well situated indeed, being so close to Beaulieu on the Dordogne River, with its bars, restaurants, shops, abbey and mediaeval centre. Collonges-la-Rouge,and Turenne, are both within 15 mins drive.

Upstream from Beaulieu is the wonderful scenery created by several dams across the Dordogne, just north of Argentat, whilst just 20 minutes downstream, is the Lot's Dordogne valley, with a wealth of villages such as Loubressac, Autoire, Carennac... all three (in common with Collonges and Turenne) classified as being plus beaux villages de France (the most beautiful villages in France) The Chateaux of Castelnau-Bretenoux and Montal are also both close by, as is the mediaeval bastide of Bretenoux.

Cantemerle gite is only available in the summer months, as the British owners are in residence for the rest of the year... and who can blame them!
