You pass through Lalinde and cross the River Dordogne here, when
you follow the glorious riverside route from Bergerac
to... well as far as you want to go, really, as this road will take
you past the most spectacular sites that the River Dordogne has
to offer.
Lalinde has done well to survive. Much fought over through the
centuries, what with the English and French at it for a hundred
years, the Protestants and Catholics and not forgetting German SS
'Das Reich' division. They torched Lalinde in June 1944 as
they passed through.
Don't you just pass through Lalinde. Hang a left off the main road,
park in by the covered market grab a croissant and a coffee and
mooch around.
