A big plus to a visit to Tremolat is getting there. Stop for a
moment to catch the view of the Dordogne from the viewpoint by the
water tower at Racamadou.
Whilst most of Tremolat is pleasant on the eye, the church is quite
the ugliest for many a mile. Not that Tremolatians of yore
would have minded.. its fortifications and vast interior kept them
safe from history's mauraders. No-one even dented it... not during
the Hundred Years War, Wars of Religion nor the Revolution! Unsurprisingly,
though, the locals use the restored chapel of St Hilary as their
parish church.
Not to have dinner in Tremolat would be a mistake. Mind you, choosing
the wrong restaurant of the two, would be a bigger mistake.
Enough said, but if the restaurant you decide upon looks like the
picture middle left... bon appetite. Enjoy.
