In the Midi-Pyrénées region, the Lot boasts no fewer than 420 monuments and sites of interest; including 6 of the most beautiful villages in France - Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. Three of the most beautiful rivers in France - the Dordogne, the Célé and the Lot itself - meander though this must-see part of France.
Less busy than its more famous neighbour the Dordogne, the Lot neverthless, has a fine selection of self catering holiday rental accommodation, from grand houses, to converted ancient barns and mills, to tucked away country cottages.
Roads to and through the Lot are excellent, with the train and plane facilities also good, so getting there should not present too much of a hassle.
The beauty of the rolling countryside, the golden stone of its towns and houses, its rivers, its famous Quercy cuisine, Cahors wine and its people, will all conspire to make your stay in the Lot a memorable experience.
