As with most of France, the major roads run North South through the Lot, with the new sections of the A20 Motorway now bringing Paris within 5hrs drive of Souillac (Junction 54) and Toulouse just 1 hour. For those in less of a hurry, the N20 runs up the centre and west side of the département running more or less parallel with the motorway and the N140 to the East, bringing Rodez and its (Ryanair) airport within easy reach of Figeac and the rest of the Lot. Apart from the airport at Rodez, most British expats in the region also use Bergerac (Dordogne) in the West, Limoges (Corrèze) in the North and Toulouse (Tarn) in the South, to get back to the UK. All await the opening of the new airport at Cressensac in the North of the Lot, close to the A20 motorway at Souillac, alas, still some 2 years (or so!) away. The beauty of the rolling countryside, the golden stone of its towns and houses, its rivers, its famous Quercy cuisine, Cahors wine and its people, will all conspire to make your stay in the Lot a memorable experience.
