Floirac by the River Dordogne is one of those places that you keep driving through and always say... "we must stop here one day..."
Which is difficult to explain. Why drive through here without checking out the gilding in the 14thC. church or the renaissance castle.
There are also some great access points to the River Dordogne here, for summer swimming.
Maybe, like many villages in France, the lack of a shop or two... the seemingly permanently shuttered windows do not invite a stop?
But then, on the way out of Floirac, heading East toward Carennac... shall we stop?
Porquoi-pas? And you do. Because it's the name of the pub!
