Freyssinet-le-Gelat, in the Bourian region of the Lot scores highly
on the Britsnet 3BB's scorecard... it has all three... a butcher,
a baker, a bar.
In fact it has two bar/restaurants and a grocery store as well...
last time we looked, so it could be worth earmarking if you are
travelling the D660 Cahors
road.
A rather splendid church (for so small a place) with a Romanesque
apse lends its wide pavement to the café across the road
in the summer... monsieur le patron usually lets you order
at the bar, rather than dodge the occasional car himself.
By the church you will find a monument to remind you that, once,
all was not the idyll that is this sleepy village today and that
the German Army once passed this way.
