The Grottes de Lacave, near Meyronne
and Souillac, Lot, France, comprises
a magnificent series of galleries.
An electic train (we kid you not) whisks you underground. Just
when you think this is a doddle and what a great way to see a cave,
you to have alight and make your way to a lift. From there on its
on your own 2 feet... about 1.5k all told.
Do not be put off. Grottes Lacave is a series of 12 of the most
fantastic underground galleries with all the stalactites and stalagmites
you could need. The effect of the reflections in the underground
lake is outstanding as too is the gallery bathed in ultra-violet
light.
