Perched on the clifftop above the River Lot some 30K west of Cahors,
Puy-L'Eveque is deep in the heart of the Cahors wine region. Which
is a pretty good reason for going there!
Seriously, wine is taken pretty... well, seriously, in Puy-L'Eveque
with some 18 Domains coming under the Cahors Apellation Contrôlée
(AOC) with addresses here... and that is a lot of wine mis en
bouteille!
Apart from wine, check out the view from the square at the top,
the 14th and 15th century buildings, the 12th Century church and
the 15th Century wallpaintings.
Seems people have been drinking wine (mis en bouche?) here
