Les Quatre-Routes-du-Lot

Walnuts grow profusely in the Dordogne River valley areas of the Lot and the Dordogne départements, South West France
Walnuts grow on trees here in the Lot and Les Quatre-Routes-Du-Lot is a good place to buy them... the trees, not the nuts! Check out the garden centre.

Whenever you venture to the very North of the Lot, (perhaps on a quick raid into the Corrèze like Englishmen of yore) and ask for directions, Les Quatre-Routes always gets a mention.

Which is why it has made its way into these off-the-cuff guides... because you will probably end up there wondering why?

Yes it is a cross roads... on the way(s) to (depending which way you are pointing) the Lot towns of Martel or Vayrac, or, for the more adventurous, Collonges La Rouge or Brive, in the neighbouring Corrèze département.

If they are not on the way somewhere (or not lost) most gite owners in these parts end up in Les Quatre-Routes-Du-Lot, because of the huge Garden Centre.
