The "Gite at Pouch" sits majestically on the top of a hill in the little hamlet of Pouch (pronounced Pooch), near Alvignac. Close to the major attractions of Rocamadour, the caves at Gouffre de Padirac and the Dordogne river valley, the house is ideal for a Summer holiday whole house rental. You can even enrol for a pottery course whilst you are here!

The total accommodation comfortably sleeps 8. The main house has 4 bedrooms, plus a further 2 people can be accommodated in some style, in the small attached, private duplex apartment that looks out onto the 5x3 metre swimming pool. The duplex also has a sofa bed in its small sitting room, so a ninth person could be accommodated at a pinch.

The four bedrooms in the main house comprise: 1 double with its own bathroom/wc on the ground floor. There are a further two doubles on the first floor, one en-suite. The second double on the first floor, has its own sitting area (or office space - it is internet enabled) with a toilet and shower room down the private staircase. A small adjacent kitchenette allows this double bedroom to be a self contained unit. A further bedroom, currently being used as a child's room, completes the sleeping arrangements in the main house.

The dining and living room both have exposed original masonry and ceiling beams that lend it immense charm.

Whilst Alvignac with its bars and restaurants is just a few minutes drive away, not everyone wants to eat out all the time... even in France! Which is where the kitchen at Pouch comes into its own. It is fully equipped, with just about everything that you could need and is definitely not typical of the 'average' holiday gite.

With the glorious summers usually to be had in this part of the Lot, a large table sits under the shade trees for, 'al fresco' dining. So much a part of renting a French summer holiday house.

The attached duplex apartment, with its separate entrance by the fenced 5x3 metre swimming pool, is included in the summer holiday rental of the main house. Accommodation comprises one double bedroom and bathroom with a shower upstairs. There is also a single bed downstairs in the living room. With self catering in mind, downstairs in the apartment, there is a dining area and mini kitchen with a stove and 'fridge which completes the apartment's 'home within a home' summer holiday accommodation.
