The gite in Betaille, in the Dordogne valley area of the Lot, is a large detached house, parts of which date back about 300 years. Renovated sympathetically, retaining as many of the original features as possible, and with recently refurbished kitchen and bathroom, the gite faces south with an enclosed garden containing shrubs, trees & flowers and with areas both of open sun & shade. There is a parking area by the front gate. Excellent swimming is nearby.

The accommodation of the gite is spacious and spread over three floors. A large dining area, kitchen, bathroom & double (140cm x 190cm) bedded room are on the ground floor. On the first floor is a large living room, and a double (king size) bedded room with its own south facing terrace. Upstairs in the converted and insulated beamed loft area, is a large (25m²) room which sleeps 2 (or possibly 4 children), with its own toilet and washbasin.

This is a very comfortable gite. Originally built as the owners home, the standard of accommodation makes this a great base for a self catering holiday. This gite is also an ideal long term rental proposition, as with both central heating and a wood burner, it is snug in the winter.

The village of Betaille has shops, (including a butcher and baker), a restaurant and bar, a doctor's surgery and is near to good schools. The gite at Betaille is just across the River Dordogne from Carennac, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. Situated near to (but set well away from) the Roman road that links Martel to St. Céré, via Bretenoux, it is an ideal base not just for a holiday, but for house hunting in the Dordogne river valley area, the North Lot and South Correze, where houses and renovation projects are much lower than in the Lot's neighbour, the Dordogne.

The gite is available for long term and out of season rental, at negotiable rates.
