'Laclavayrie', near St Céré - Sleeps 2 and 5+

Let the artist in you revel in this "away from the maddening crowd " bucolic Dordogne Valley countryside of the Lot.
My comfortable home nestles on a sunny hillside spot surrounded by "sound of music " panoramic views and is situated in a breathtakingly beautiful part of France that offers something for everyone, young, less young and especially the young at heart.

Journey's End - how to get here

Situated in the small hamlet of Laclavayrie and just 3 miles from the medieval market town of St. Céré, my gites are close to the stunning Pilgrimage site of Rocamadour and the nearby deep, deep caves of Padirac will enthral you.

Everything for everyone from simply walking, to spending the day visiting the beautiful local bastide villages, and several of the listed Plus Beaux Villages...The Most Beautiful Villages in France.

Maybe an evening soaking up the delight of a high quality operatic performance in a nearby castle or browsing in and out of the many local fairs, markets, brocantes, artists workshops, exhibitions etc. will thrill and enchant you.

There are many small local lakes and riverside sites to cool off and especially near my gite, the very beautiful lake " Lac du Tolerme " with beaches, bathing, boating, waterslides, playground etc.

Shopping
All essential shops and services are to be found just 10 mins drive away in St. Céré. At last count there were 6 butchers, 5 bakers and, for some strange reason, 4 opticians! There is a food market on Saturdays and a big "Foire" every lst and 3rd Wednesday of the month, throughout the year.

Activities
Swimming: Lac du Tolerme. Swimming pool at Latronquiere and St Céré. Tennis, bicycle hire and golf in St. Céré. Canoe /kayak on the river Dordogne at Carennac and Beaulieu.
