Gite Holiday France - What we need from you

Your gite advert features a great deal of information over several pages and we also link your gite to other, promotional pages within the Gite Holiday France website. All this activity is designed to help visitors to make up their minds to contact you direct. To build the pages that make up your advert, the following elements will be needed from you:

To view further explanation of what we will require from you, you can click on the individual item from the list below.

For further information on what we require from you, you can also scroll down the explanations below.

If for any reason you are unable to send us what we need when we contact you, either online or as e-mail attachments, preferring to post everything, then there will be additional charges that will be incurred. For further information of these charges, please see the Additional Cost Summary page on this website, by clicking this link

Photos: Specification
General

We assume that you will be able to send us photos embedded in the online form that you will fill out (the address of which we will e-mail to you, once you tell us that you have posted off your application and remittance). Failing this, we assume you will be able to send us images as e-mail attachments.

If you cannot provide us with electronic (psd, jpeg or gif) photos, then you will have to post us actual prints or transparencies (please see below).

Please note, that whatever method that you use to send us your photos, web pages are horizontal in format, therefore landscape photos (rather than upright) are best.

Electronic Photo File Formats
We use Photoshop to manipulate images, so if you do too, you can send us your images in .psd format. If not, then please supply your photos in .gif or .jpg (.jpeg) formats.
Electronic Image Sizes

We use the following pixel width sizes to feature your gite... 35,65,172,350.
Not each photo is represented in each of these sizes, of course. To avoid confusion, we are quite happy to manipulate your images to the size that we need. All we need from you is to indicate which image is the main gite photo, and we will do the rest. Please send us...
Dimensions:
If the photo is landscape (wider than it is deep), then we require it 350 pixels wide (12.35cm wide)
If the photo is upright (deeper than it is wide) then we require it 270 pixels deep (9.53cm deep)

Postal Photograph Formats

You can also send us your gite photos in print (no larger than A4) or 35mm transparency format. These must be accompanied by a stamped self addressed envelope if you want them returned. There will be additional handling charges for these photos - please see the cost summary page by clicking this link.

Photograph captions - electronically sent.
Captions are used in two ways, to better publicise your gite. As 'alt tags' that appear as an image is moused-over and on the individual pages that feature each, larger version of the photo. You will be able to caption photos when filling out your online form. Alternatively, if you want to send us your images by e-mail, you must also send us a word document attachment with these captions, clearly labelled with the title of each image. You may, of course, send us an individual e-mail containing the caption, attaching just that one image. One e-mail with caption for just the one image.

Photograph or transparency captions - posted.
If you post your photos, each must be numbered and a caption relating to each number included, preferably in a word document contained on a 'floppy' disk. Failing that, we will accept typewritten (preferably) sheets with the captions numbered, relating to the individual photos.

Body Copy - The description of your gite.
Some write a lot... others a little. However much you write, you will need to send it to us, either embedded in the online form that you will complete, or as an e-mailed word document attachment. If you want to post it, you should do so as a word document in a 'floppy' disk or typewritten on an A4 sheet. An additional charge will be made for transcribing typewritten submissions

Places of Interest
An important element in the marketing of your gite, is to identify it with nearby major places of interest to visitors. You will be asked to identify these places when we contact you to progress your gite listing.

Prices
There are many different ways of splitting up the year into different rental price bands. Within reason, we will construct this part of your gite listing to suit your individual preference.

Price Includes
The clearer this vital information is, the easier it will be for visitors to your gite page. Check out the 'Price Includes' listings for gites already on this website.

Gite Equipment and Facilities
Not having a BBQ is unlikely to stop a visitor to your gite page from contacting you. It is nice to know, though, exactly what to expect and featuring the information in the way we do makes it easy for your prospective customer. Click on the link on one of the existing gite listing pages here on this website to view an example of the information that we will need from you.

Contact Details

Visitors to your gite page need to be able to contact you as easily as possible. Mostly, this will be by e-mail.

If you do not have an e-mail address, then we can provide one for you. We can then forward incoming e-mails to another e-mail address (a friend or relative, for instance) or we can either fax a visitor's message to you or telephone it through to you. For further information on these Gite Holiday France e-mail services, please click this link.

We can, of course, handle the whole contact and booking process for you and you can view full details of this service by clicking this link.
