It is extremely difficult to track down properties for sale in rural France without an agent, as French property owners tend not to put up 'For Sale' signs. Many are hard to find, like the one illustrated right. Even if you do find the property of your dreams by simply knocking on the door (if occupied) and asking if it is for sale, the route through the French property buying legal system has many 'snakes and ladders' on the way. Unlike their British based counterparts, good estate agents in France hand-hold to a great extent and if your French is not totally fluent, you will probably come to the conclusion sometime during the (often) extended and drawn out process, that your friendly French estate agent (whether they are Brit, Dutch, French or whatever) probably earn their fee. Which is just as well, as you pay them, not the seller! So far on this Gite Holiday France website we have some listings for estate agents in the Correze, Dordogne and Lot départements. As we add new département sections, we will also list estate agents in the key towns. Eventually, these individual département listings, will build to form the definitive website for French property hunters*. You can search this site for French property estate agents in key towns of the Correze, Dordogne and Lot départements, by using the drop down menu below or the 'Buying?' button in the main navigation bar at the top of each page.
*The french-property-estate-agents.co.uk, website is currently under construction by Britsnet Ltd.
