First and foremost, the Gite Holiday France website's role is to preview
self catering gite holiday accommodation in France and to put you in touch
with the gite owner - direct.
However, we know how difficult it is to discover local background information
on France, (particularly rural France) from a distance. We also realise
that good local information and a photo or two, could make all the difference
when choosing where to look for your ideal gite holiday in France.
When constructing each French département gite search section
for this website, therefore, we will also try to give you an insight to
the attractions the area has to offer and an introduction to some of its
towns and villages... places of interest, with photos wherever possible.
Not a definitive guide to any part of France, but an idiosyncratic, anecdotal
and sometimes irreverant glimpse at the places behind the names on a map.
Hopefully, this will be sufficent for you to follow through on your search
by contacting the individual gite owners direct that live near that place.
For these owners are already living La Vie en France and, having
chosen where to live, they will tend to be not just knowledgeable, but
passionate about their own particluar little bit of France.
We do not believe that you could get a better feel for anywhere in France,
than from someone who has chosen to put down roots there! Except, of course,
you... if you come and experience it for yourself!
